Chartered Building Surveyor, London Base to £60000

Reporting to: Director, Building Surveying Professional Services
Location: London Office

Overall Purpose of Job
As a Chartered Building Surveyor or Senior Surveyor to work in a team specialising in dilapidations and other professional services works on behalf of both public and private clients.
The desire is to build the team to expand upon existing workloads and this role is to help develop this team under the National Director of Commercial Building Surveying.
1. To provide a professional building surveying service to the Practice and its clients.
2. To take responsibility for building surveying projects within a team.
3. To endeavour to maintain a fee income as advised annually.
4. To provide guidance and mentoring for Graduate and Trainee Building Surveyors.

 

Key Responsibilities
a. Act as building surveyor on a variety of professional services projects from inception to completion liaising with team members and others as necessary. This to include
acquisition reports, response or preparation and negotiations of dilapidations, other landlord and tenant issues including some contract administration.
b. Marketing the services and the Practice to new and existing clients in order to increase workload. This is a very important aspect of the role and will require time to be set aside specifically for marketing including working with the marketing team to ensure maximum coverage and effect.
c. Act as a point of contact for the company
e. To continually improve team profitability by managing time and resources allocated to projects and by ensuring that time spent on projects is recorded and that fee invoicing is carried out at appropriate stages. To monitor and report the same against target
 

Attributes

Professionally Chartered and technically competent with a dynamic personality willing to work in a client facing role or somebody with outgoing approach good with clients and winning work.
a. MRICS qualification
b. Minimum 2 years PQE
c. Good standard of academic qualification and education
d. Dynamic individual with strong character, leadership qualities and a desire to succeed.
e. Track record in winning and retaining clients or exposure to the same
f. Strong commercial attitude with an understanding of company needs
g. A desire to progress.
